Introduction
In operation

Norway's leading grocery distributor ASKO has taken delivery of two battery-driven Ro-Ro vessels, Marit and Therese. Designed by Naval Dynamics and delivered from Cochin Shipyard in India in September 2022.

The vessel's function

The vessels cross the Oslo fjord between Moss and Horten. ASKO states they can replace 150 trucks daily, eliminate 2 million km of truck haulage and save 5,000 tonnes of CO₂ per year. Autonomy functionality is tested over a period with reduced crew onboard before the vessels are planned to be uncrewed and monitored from Massterly's ROC.
