MASSTERLY
Remote Operations Centre · Horten, Norway

Seamanship, from shore.

The nerve centre for monitoring Massterly's fleet — ensuring seamless navigation, maintenance management and safety control.

01Opened March 2024

From testing phase to full operational capability.

The ROC in Horten is where advanced technology meets extensive expertise in ship operations.

From the centre, our operators oversee vessels such as Yara Birkeland and ASKO's MS Marit and MS Therese, and support Reach Remote. In February 2026, the ROC began supervising three vessels simultaneously for the first time.

The ROC mirrors the onboard environment — alarms, camera feeds and GA drawings — layered with new visualisations developed together with Kongsberg Maritime.

02How it connects
1

Vessel

Sensors, cameras and alarms onboard provide the situational picture. Automated systems handle mooring, charging and cargo.

2

Operator

Captains, navigators and engineers in the ROC supervise, advise and intervene — in close dialogue with any crew onboard.

3

Shore expertise

Technical management, vessel management and Chief2Shore bring the wider organisation and our owners' know-how to every vessel.

"It felt almost like standing on the bridge — just from a comfier chair and better coffee. Good tools help, but it's the dialogue with the crew that makes it work."
